Crime is on the rise because of the SNP’s soft touch approach to justice, and because they abolished local, frontline policing.
Recent figures showed more than 650 frontline officers have been lost since the SNP created Police Scotland in 2013. Additionally, under the SNP violent crime has risen in each of the last five years.
The Scottish Conservatives have repeatedly called for local policing to be restored to our communities. A visible police presence is essential to detect, prevent and reduce crime.
Police officers put themselves on the line each and every day to ensure we can go about our lives safely. The very least they deserve is to be properly supported and resourced.
