Definition of ‘woman’ and Gender Recognition Reform Bill

I would define a woman as an adult human female.

I am very aware of the sensitivities of this ongoing debate following the publication of the Gender Recognition Reform Bill by the SNP Government. While I recognise that there are improvements that can be made to the system of gender recognition for trans people, it is my view that these cannot come at the expense of women’s rights and safety.

I believe that the proposals as drafted do not offer enough protection for women’s rights. It is now for the SNP Government to listen to and address the legitimate and reasonable concerns raised by women about this legislation.
